Ice win again

Daniil Tarasov continued his hot streak, Blake Coleman and Sean Kuraly both had two-point nights and Ryan Obuchowski scored yet again in a 6-4 Ice victory over Sioux Falls Friday night. It was the Ice's eighth win in nine outings.

Tarasov scored twice -- extending his scoring streak to eight -- including a power-play goal late in the first that gave the Ice a 2-0 lead. He added an empty-netter later.


The Ice built leads of 4-1 and 5-2, with defenseman Brandon Russo scoring in the first before Tarasov's goal. In the second, Chris Martin scored off a feed from Kuraly, and then Kuraly added a shorthanded goal moments at the 9:00 mark to make it a 4-1 game.

Obuchowski's third-period goal gave the Ice a 5-2 lead, and was his fourth in five games. He has five goals on the season.

The USHL's scoring leader, Coleman now has a five-game scoring streak going, as he had assists on both of Tarasov's goals.

Jon Gillies made 44 saves in the victory.

The Ice travel to Fargo Saturday night. ... Coleman leads the USHL now with 84 points (30-54-84) and a +50 plus/minus rating, while Tarasov leads the USHL in goals (35) and is a +32. Defenseman Nick Mattson, a Chicago Blackhawks draftee, has a +31.
