The seating layout and concourse placement -- virtually unchanged since 1939 -- will be significantly changed. The new design will include a double-decked bowl with (presumably) wider seats and a center-hung scoreboard with video capability -- instead of the two long side-hung boards that had been in place since the 1960s (and were replaced with a more modern version that fit the same footprint in the early 1990s).
The concourse screenshots would indicate that the concourses will be on the second level of the building, not at street (and ice) level as they are currently. However, it also means that the permanent stands will go up to the glass, rather than being significantly offset (especially in the end zones) as they are now.
Essentially, the Coliseum is being gutted on the interior and rebuilt. The exterior will not change.
Here are two screenshots from the WTHR report.
