The Pepsi Coliseum is closing from fall 2012 through summer 2014 due to extensive renovations. The State Fair Board is going to spend $3.8 million to overhaul the Coliseum's interior.
A home for the Ice for those two seasons is currently undetermined -- the only other rinks in Central Indiana are Bankers Life Fieldhouse and several smaller rinks such as the Carmel Ice Skadium -- where the Ice have played exhibition games -- the Fishers Forum and the soon-to-be-closed Pan Am Plaza rink -- where the Ice played several regular season and postseason games in 2008-09. We'll continue to follow this story. Other than some minor renovations, the the Coliseum have been virtually unchanged since it was built in 1939.
