This day in Indianapolis hockey history: June 13

Three birthdays today, all Indiana Ice players: Nick Deutz (29), Alexander Kuqali (23) and Mattias Soderqvist (20).

Nick Deutz: One of the original Indiana Ice players, he played 33 games for the team in its inaugural 2004-05 season. He had four goals and four assists. He also played in the NAHL with Billings that season, and played the next year in the USHL with Sioux Falls. A native of Moorhead, Minn., he is 29.
Alexander Kuqali: Three-year member of the Ice from 2009-12. He played 102 games, scoring three goals and assisting on 26 from his defensive position. He also had three points in 14 postseason games with the Ice. He was dealt to Sioux City midway through his last USHL season, and recently completed his sophomore year at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he has 21 points in 74 games. A native of Pittsburgh, he is 23.
Mattias Soderqvist: Ice goaltender for seven games during the 2012-13 season. He was 1-4-0 with a 4.85 GAA. He went from the Ice to Div. III Lawrence University. He also played four games in the NAHL this season. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, he is 20.
