Ice captain Alex Barron is headed to play collegiately at Quinnipiac University, according to a statement released by the team today.
Barron is a first-pairing defenseman for the ice, and is tied for second among USHL defenseman with 10 assists. He also has one goal and is the Ice team leader in plus/minus.
Barron will join his brother Loren -- also a former Ice player -- on the Quinnipiac roster. The Bobcats compete in the ECAC.
Barron is the 12th current Ice player to commit to play collegiately:
