Tonight's game: Ice vs. USA U17

The Ice and the USNDTP U17s play the middle game of their three-game, two-week set tonight in Ann Arbor after Cody Bradley scored twice to give the Ice a 5-3 victory over the U17s Friday night. They'll play again at the Pepsi Coliseum in the Ice's home opener next Saturday. The U17 team has a couple of familiar faces -- or names. Leading scorer Tyler Kelleher was drafted by the Ice earlier this year but opted to join the national team development program instead. New head coach Danton Cole is a former Indianapolis Ice player, suiting up for 32 games in 1995-96. Loaded with offensive talent, the Ice have been big on the power play, going 3-for-5 last night and a whopping 5-for-9 for the year -- and that's without the benefit of the enormous Pepsi Coliseum ice surface, which the Ice will return to next week to open the season. It's possible we'll see Dalton Izyk make his USHL debut for the Ice for the first time this season tonight. Hunter Miska played goal for the national team last night, expect to see Curtis Frye get the call tonight. He had 40 saves in an OT loss to Chicago last week.
