Game 1 of the season means we get the first look at the roster. Who dressed tonight:
Goalies
Jon Gillies, Dalton Izyk
*-Gillies is the No. 1 going into the year, so no surprise he was the starter tonight. With back-to-back games against the same team next weekend, one could expect to see both goaltenders get some work, although we will have to see what the coaching staff chooses to do.
Defensemen
Alex Barron, R.J. Boyd, Joe Fiala, Alexander Kuqali, Matthew Krug, Ryan Obuchowski
*-A veteran group -- All but Krug played in the USHL last year -- Barron, Kuqali and Obuchowski with the Ice, Fiala with the USNDTP and Boyd with Chicago.
Forwards
Robbie Baillargeon, Cody Bradley, Dan Cesarz, Jacob Fallon, Christian Hilbrich, Woody Hudson, Sean Kuraly, Tyler Pham, Robert Polosello, Emil Romig, Dan Sherer, Daniil Tarasov.
*-Bradley, Cesarz, Fallon, Hilbrich, Kuraly & Tarasov all played with the Ice last year. Baillargeon is a Div. I commit. Pham was the Ice's top draft pick this spring and has also made his college commitment -- Sherer was the No. 2. Polosello has been a huge scorer in the preseason and was the one newcomer to get on the scoresheet tonight.
Scratches tonight: Forward Drew Smolczynski and defensemen Robert Gawron and Ian Spencer.
Players who were not kept on the 23-man roster from the preseason: Forwards Cody Gyllyng & Andrew Mayer and defenseman Miha Stebih.
