Ice forward Adam Erne has been picked by the USA Hockey U-17 select team to play in the Five Nations Tournament Aug. 9-13 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Erne, considered to be one of the most talented 1995-born players in the country, was the USHL's youngest player last season. He was one of four 1995 births in the USHL last year. Three are on the U17 select team's roster.
Erne is one of 22 players to be selected. Other USHL players are Cedar Rapids defenseman Anthony DeAngelo and Chicago Steel forward Michael Turner.
The team will be coached by former NHL player Bob Corkum.
